The author of the module ac3enc.dll was Fabrice Bellard, using the pseudonym Gerard Lantau. Fabrice Bellard, a computer programmer, is more popularly known as the founder of FFmpeg as well as the project leader for QEMU (a freeware processor emulator). The module ac3enc.dll is one of the various ac3 encoders that have been developed. AC-3 also known as Dolby Digital is a digital audio codec that decreases the size of data that is required to produce high quality audio. The codec takes advantage on how humans perceive sound. The AC3 codec provides five channels for speakers, namely front left, front right, center, surround left and surround right with the normal range of 20 Hz - 2000 Hz.
The file ac3enc.dll also comes bundled with BeSweet, which is a free audio conversion tool that supports audio conversion in various formats.
