The edisk.dll file is also called the McAfee VirusScan Rescue Disk Resource and is created for making a disc that will be used for recovery whenever a system crash occurs due to computer viruses and other threats to computer security.

McAfee VirusScan and the edisk.dll module are essential because VirusScan automatically checks the downloads via the Internet, the electronic mail, and the attachments. Whenever a threat is detected, VirusScan automatically attempts to remove the infection with its AutoClean feature.
