Windows Process Description:

The laprxy.dll module is also known as the Windows Media Logagent Proxy. It adds flexibility to some security programs or other applications regarding the destination folder options for the log files

LogAgent used in the laprxy.dll file was created to enable users to log file destinations hard coded in the application. This makes it impossible to choose a new location and prevents the centralization of log files in a network

Using the laprxy.dll application, one can trace the execution of Java programs that do not use logging during programming using logagent. It automatically adds logging during runtime.

In this program, the logging can be configured in detail while classes and packages to be logged can be chosen through the use of a configuration file. This means particular sets of methods can become exceptions. This program also provides an output file that can be configured. A default configuration is used if the configuration file is not available as a command line parameter.

The laprxy.dll module allows the LogAgent to scan and read syslog messages continuously for security violations. It receives messages directly from syslog through a FIFO created at setup time. Upon the discovery of matching results, a reporter module receives the similar message issued by the module.

The LogAgent uses the laprxy.dll to configure any number of regular expressions to scan for. This system also provides the capability of easily customizing methods. This is because the functions to be used can provide the operator with access to the extending options for the appropriate expressions that are currently being scanned. This will enable the operator to apply a more detailed LogAgent on a specific setup.
