The libhotkeys_plugin.dll module allows users access to hot keys for the VLC or VideoLan Client Media Player. This plug-in DLL interacts with the VLC Media player to provide hot key functions on demand to extend the capabilities of the application.
The VLC Media Layer is the product of the open source community for cross-platform player. It has superior usability and this can be demonstrated when you open any audio or video file that you are downloading. These files can be played in whatever form may it be in a real video format or a temporary unclassified one. VLC allows video preview even if you are not done with the download, it will only skip on the parts that are unfinished. Aside from this, VLC has support for various audio and video formats. If the media player does not recognize the format, it will still try to play it even if the display is scrambled in its most raw form. It also has excellent hotkey support, enabled by the libhotkeys_plugin.dll file that lets you do everything within the computing realm, without even touching a mouse.
The libhotkeys_plugin.dll file lets you also view the available hotkeys that can be retrieved and modified in the media player's preference panel. However, in the interface for exWidgets, this is available in the 'Settings' Menu then 'Preferences' Menu. Select the Hotkeys dialog box. From here, you will see a list functions and the hotkey bound to it. Some boxes will also show a modifiers list for a hotkey. To be able to trigger a hotkey, you have to press the keys at the same time to let it correspond to the selected modifiers.
