Windows Process Description:

The pa9res.dll file is included in the driver for Panasonic 9-pin dot matrix printers. The pa9res.dll module is included in the print processor that converts data that needs to be printed for the form and particularly to the Panasonic dot-matrix printer. The pa9res.dll module allows applications to print without being aware of the technical details of the Panasonic dot-matrix printer.

The pa9res.dll module allows the conversion of data to be able to produce the needed output on the dot matrix printer. This type of printer has a print head that does printing by impact, and strikes a cloth ribbon that is ink soaked against the paper. The print head runs back and forth like a typewriter. But unlike a typewriter, letters and different fonts and some arbitrary graphics can be printed. The dot matrix printer is able to produce carbon copies because mechanical pressure is involved in the printing process.

The Panasonic dot-matrix has a 9-pin head that is driven forward by tiny electromagnets or solenoids through small levers. A guide plate that is pierced with holes that serves as pin guides faces the ribbon and the paper. The printer head moves to print one line at a time.

The pa9res.dll module is used for Panasonic dot-matrix impact printer series KX-P1000, KXP2000 and KXP3000. These printers are low-cost and designed for a home or small office that requires professional output. On Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, the pa9res.dll module along with other files, make use of GDI or Graphics Device Interface that is used in the representation of graphical objects and transmits them to the printer. The GDI may be Unidrv (Universal Printer Driver) or PScript-based.
