The tasks.dll file functions as a tasks plug-in for Omea. This file is important in organizing many kinds of information like electronic mails, files, Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds, tasks, weblinks, contacts, or custom resource types. Omea is a client for aggregating and organizing this information and is also a .NET application that can only run in Windows Server 2003, Windows XP or Windows 2000. Though it is a stand-alone application, it is incapable of handling electronic mail without Microsoft Office Outlook.

JetBrains, the company that made the tasks.dll file, is also the one which created Omea. This company created Omea to provide a "Personal Information Environment" integrating all kinds of important resources in one place.
