The file tdisplus.dll is a display driver utility module created by Trident Microsystems, Inc. for the Microsoft Windows platforms. The earliest documented version is 1.0.0.2, which was first seen in Windows 95 platforms that utilize Trident Video technology. Succeeding valid versions are as follows: 4.03.00.2111, 4.10.01.2129, 4.10.01.2138, 4.10.1.2129, 4.10.1.2138, 4.12.01.3104, 4.12.1.3104, 4.3.0.2111, and, the current version, 5.0.2195.64, which is being used in Windows XP platforms through the same video display technology. The file tdispluc.dll is identified as Display Control Plus, most probably a display enhancement feature for the Trident Video Cards.

The hardware supporting the tdisplu.dll module is known as the Trident Blade 3D/Promedia Video Card, an AGP type of video hardware. It is one of the older types of VCs supporting a 2D/3D graphics controller for lower-end desktop applications that do not require that much video rendering power. It has minimum compatibility with DirectX 6.0 as well.
