The run-time engine, the vb40032.dll module, initializes applications developed in Microsoft Visual Basic version 4.0 32-bit.

The programming language designed by Microsoft for its COM programming model is called Visual Basic. This event-driven programming language is based on the code known as BASIC (Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code).
